Transpak needed a sales tool that could pitch their top-to-bottom data center shipping services. On the surface, it's pretty easy to imagine what that might look like.

The problem was that the story was much deeper than what you'd expect—it covered stringent requirements, extraordinary testing, eco-friendly packaging, and data privacy laws just to name a few.

I pitched a presentation that could travel with sales teams, didn't require Wi-Fi, and could be customized to different audiences with a drag and drop interface. My primary direction to the team on execution was to make it feel like a McDonald's kiosk—easy to use with some visual bells and whistles that would impress buyers.

Also important was the need to show rather than tell. As such, I took 3D CAD files from a packaging example and translated it into textured, ready to animate 3D models so it could become an exploratory experience. A user could dissect the pieces, rotate it to view different angles, and see exactly how TransPak puts expertise in rack packing into practice.
